Hawkley sees commercial flows in Ukraine

Success in Ukraine: Hawkley Oil & Gas has flowed commercial volumes of gas from the Sorochynska-202 well

Australia-listed Hawkley Oil & Gas has flowed commercial volumes of gas with high condensate content from its Sorochynska-202 well in the Poltava region of Ukraine.

The company announced on Wednesday that the successful flows occurred during testing operations of the Upper B18 sands.

A through tubing inflatable packer was installed and the well had been cleaning out the considerable volumes of water and nitrogen used during the installation process.

Specifically choosing a small choke size (4 millimetres) for the initial test in order to maintain downhole pressure during the clean out process, Hawkley said the well flowed at a calculated rate of 900,000 cubic feet of gas per day.

The company is now planning to begin production tests…
