KMG EP promotes Nurseitov to chief executive

Leadership change: KMG EP boss who was hired after riots becomes regional governor

London-listed Kazakh explorer KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) has appointed Abat Nurseitov as its new chief executive after the outgoing boss was appointed a regional governor.

KMG EP’s board said that Nurseitov had "confirmed his commitment to the strategic goals and aims of KMG EP and his intention to continue the modernisation programme launched earlier on".

Nurseitov has served as deputy general director for production and managing director of production with KMG EP, which he joined in 2006.

He previously held management posts with NIPIneftegaz, Turgai-Petroleum CJSC and the Kazakh branch of Lukoil during 30 years in the oil business.
