Fourth Statoil worker dead

A fourth Statoil employee has been confirmed dead following a terrorist attack at an Algerian gas field 10 days ago.

Confirmation of the death of forty three-year-old Grimstad resident Alf Vik means one employee of the Norwegian state oil giant remains unaccounted for at the In Amenas facility in the central east of the country.

Statoil confirmed on Friday that workers Hans Bjone, Tore Bech and Thomas Snekkevik had died as a result of the assault by Islamist militants which began in the early hours of 16 January before developing into a days-long hostage crisis.
