Eco seals deal trio

Canadian junior Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas has roped in a pair of partners to help with exploration activities at a trio off African offshore blocks.

The Toronto-listed player penned the joint operating agreements with National Petroleum Corp of Namibia (Namcor) and Bermuda-registered outfit Azimuth covering blocks off the nascent southern African hydrocarbons nation.

All three blocks – Guy, Sharon and Cooper – are situated in the prospective Walvis basin.

The Cooper Block is 5000 square kilometres situated in water depths of between 200 and 500 metres. Targets are Basal Tertiary Clastics and Turbidites, Upper Cretaceous Clastics and Turbidites and Lower Cretaceous Carbonates.

The Sharon Block is spread over 10,000 square km in water depths of up to 200 metres and has the same targets.
