Dana gets Nefertiti go-ahead

Dana Petroleum has been given the green light for further development at one of its Egyptian offshore plays.

The UK independent won governmental approval to press ahead with further development of the Nefertiti oilfield in the Gulf of Suez.

Approval follows the successful completion of the Nefertiti-2X appraisal well at the end of the year where it tested a maximum flow rate of 1850 barrels per day.

Dana, along with partner Inpex, expects to produce an average of 2500 bpd from the field once it comes on line, which is slated for six months time.
