Top workplaces: energy companies rank high

Upstream oil and gas companies made a solid showing on the latest list of the best 150 places to work in the US, nabbing three spots in the top 10 of WorkplaceDynamics' annual survey.

"This year’s list reflects the strength of America’s petroleum exploration and production industry, which is going through a significant growth spurt," said a statement from Pennsylvania-based WorkplaceDynamics, an independent employee survey provider.

"Our research shows that companies that set a clear direction for the future, execute well and bring real meaning to work are the healthiest."

The Woodlands, Texas-based Anadarko Petroleum clocked in at number three overall among America's Top Workplaces, making it the highest ranked energy company. It moved up one slot from last year.
