Talks: with potential partners for Bergen Group Rosenberg yard

Cash-strapped Norwegian builder Bergen Group is in talks for a partial divestment of its offshore fabrication division as it faces further losses from its shipbuilding activities in the fourth quarter.

The group, which owns a network of yards on Norway’s west coast, has been carrying out a review for a structural revamp of its offshore and services divisions to relieve financial pressure after earlier being clobbered by losses due to delays on shipbuilding projects.

"We have for some time discussed various strategic options that could support the solid growth of the offshore division, through both partnerships and more formal collaboration with other players,” said chief executive Terje Arnesen.
