Toll in Pemex blast climbs to 37

Rising toll: the number of people killed in a blast at Pemex's headquarters has risen to 37

Another body was found in the rubble of an office building at Pemex's Mexico City headquarters and a hospitalised worker died from injuries, bringing the count of the dead in the event to 37.

As rescue efforts continue forward, speculation on the cause of the incident continued among a frustrated public as top officials delayed giving any further explanation on the deadly blast, which also injured over 100 people.

Local media reports reported rumours including drug gang involvement and opposition to private investment in Pemex as among the underlying causes.
