Eurasia’s Lamprell rig to sail in summer

Soon on its way: Blue Water Shipping will deliver the second Eurasia jack-up from Lamprell, just like it did the first last year

Eurasia Drilling is to start taking delivery in the second half of this year of a jack-up rig ordered at Lamprell shipyard for use in the Caspian Sea.

The LeTourneau S116E-design unit, the second to be built at the Middle Eastern group for the independent Russian driller, will be shipped to Russia by Dutch heavy-lift specialist Blue Water Shipping.

Delivery from the Hamriyah facility will take place in four shipments beginning this summer with delivery set to the complete by the spring of 2014.

Blue Water will take the rig in parts via the Volga-Don river system to a Russian yard to assembly before it is deployed in the Caspian.
