Australian engineering company Monadelphous Group has been awarded a new contract on the Inpex-operated Ichthys liquefied natural gas project, in northern Australia.

The A$90 million (US$92.6 million) contract will see  Monadelphous’ wholly-owned subsidiary KT carry out engineering, procurement and construction work on the gas export pipeline for the projects LNG facilities in Darwin, Northern Territory.

The contract was awarded by JKC Australia LNG, a joint venture between JGC Corporation and Chiyoda, and KBR, which holds the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the onshore LNG facilities.

Monadelphous said work on the contract was scheduled to be completed in early 2015.
