Profits: WorleyParsons posted a 2% lift in net profits

Strong performance from the hydrocarbon segment helps lift revenues for WorleyParsons

Australian engineering company WorleyParsons has posted flat profits for the first half of the Australian financial year, despite a rise in revenue.

The company posted a net profit of A$155.1 million (US$160.6 million) for the six months to 31 December, up 2% on the A$151.9 million profit booked during the same period a year earlier.

The modest rise in profits came despite a 33.7% rise in revenue over the six-month period to A$4.4 billion, compared to the A$3.3 billion generated during the corresponding period in 2011.
