Dockwise backs takeover offer

Thumbs up: Dockwise's board gave their unanimous support to the Boskalis offer

Dutch heavy-lift specialst Dockwise has backed a mandatory takeover offer from compatriot Boskalis and recommended shareholders do the same.

Boskalis formally launched its takeover offer last week, offering  €18.50 ($24.87) per share for all of the issued and outstanding common shares in the capital of Dockwise.

On Wednesday, Dockwise released a statement urging shareholders to accept the offer, saying its board had unanimously supported the offer and merging of the two companies.

"Since Boskalis' initial approach, the Dockwise board has run a diligent process to protect the interest of our shareholders, employees and the other stakeholders in our company,” Dockwise chairman, Adri Baan said.
