The
6506/6-2
well,
the
first
to
be
drilled
on
PL513,
is
located
around
six
kilometres
north
of
Total's
Victoria
gas
discovery
in
the
Norwegian
Sea.
It
was
drilled
by
the
Transocean
Barents
to
a
vertical
depth
of
3325
metres
below
the
sea
surface
in
409
metres
of
water.
The
6506/6-2
well,
in
the
Haltenbanken
area,
was
chasing
gas
and
condensate
reserves
in
the
Cretaceous
Lysing
formation
at
the
Albert
prospect.
“The
well
encountered
the
Lysing
formation
with
reservoir
rocks
and
reservoir
quality
as
expected,
but
the
well
is
dry,”
the
NPD
said.
