The
North
Kendang-1
well
is
being
drilled
by
the
semi-submersible
Ocean
General
to
a
depth
of
about
2600
metres
subsea.
Located
in
465
metres
of
water,
the
well
is
targeting
oil
and
gas
pay
in
a
series
of
stacked
Pliocene-Upper
Miocene
sandstone
reservoirs.
According
to
Salamander,
North
Kendang-1
is
estimated
to
hold
about
91
million
barrels
of
oil
and
770
billion
cubic
feet
of
gas.
Following
completion
of
the
well,
the
Ocean
General
is
expected
to
return
to
the
nearby
Bontang
PSC
to
drill
the
Bedug
prospect,
located
up-dip
of
the
South
Kecapi
