Maersk extends Plexus contract

Providing more services: Plexus has received an extension to a contract with Maersk in the North Sea

Danish company Maersk Oil has extended a contract with Aberdeen-based Plexus covering its exploration programme in the North Sea.

Plexus said Maersk had agreed to exercise two, one-year extension options attached to a contract previously awarded to Plexus in 2009 to supply casing support and mudline suspension services for  an exploration programme in the North Sea.

That contract, which was valued at £3 million ($4.7 million), covered three wells over a period of three years.

Plexus said, following the execution of the extensions, the contract now covered at least one more well with an estimated value of £1.5 million, and would run until the end of 2014.
