Sound secures rig for Nervesa well

Italy: Sound Oil hands a rig contract to LP Drilling for the Nervesa appraisal well on the Carita permit

UK junior Sound Oil has handed a rig contract to LP Drilling for the drilling of an appraisal well in northern Italy.

The Italy-focused company said on Thursday that written authority for the drilling of the Nervesa appraisal well was anticipated on 1 March.

In preparation for this, Sound has agreed for LP to mobilise its hydraulic drilling rig TB 2100S to the Carita permit, containing the Nervesa discovery, on 25 March. The well is expected to be spudded on 1 April, given written permissions have been received.

This contract follows a letter of intent signed in October last year.
