Subsea 7 wins $160m North Sea work

$160 million contract: Subsea 7 is to complete pipelay and subsea installation work for Statoil in the North Sea

UK-based services provider Subsea 7 has been awarded a pipelay and subsea installation contract from Norway’s Statoil for the Oseberg Delta 2 field in the North Sea.

The deal, which has been valued at about $160 million, involves the design, fabrication and installation of two insulated rigid production pipelines totalling 10 kilometres, and the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of two flexible gas injection lines totalling 9 kilometres. The work also includes the installation of 16 kilometres of umbilicals, as well as manifolds installation and tie-in work.

The contract, which is expected to start immediately, will be the first project tendered out of Subsea 7’s new office in Oslo. Pipeline production will be undertaken at the company’s spoolbase in…
