Australia’s Titan Energy Services said it has received a letter of intent to supply a drilling rig to Australian coalbed methane (CBM) producer Australia Pacific Liquefied Natural Gas (APLNG).

Under the deal, Titan’s Atlas Drilling business will supply its Gefco Speedstar Rig 2 for drilling in the Australian state of Queensland for a six-month period, with the option of an additional six months.

Titan managing director Jim Sturgess said this proposed agreement would see Atlas’ four drilling rigs operating under solid contracts with leadings players in the CBM industry.

Gefco Speedstar Rig 2 has just completed a 14-month programme with Australia’s Arrow Energy.
