Skansa awarded Ecopetrol contract

Colombian gig: Skansa has been awarded to a contract to operate and maintain oilfields in the South American country

Swedish construction giant Skanska has been awarded a contract to by Ecopetrol to operate and maintain oilfields in Colombia.

Skansa said it would carry out the $70 million contract as part of a joint venture with a local Colombian company, noting that it would take a 73% share of the contract value, amounting to a total of $51 million.

Under the contract, Skansa said it would be responsible for the operation and maintenance of 22 oil wells, two water injection wells, surface facilities, 80 kilometers of flow lines and the gas, oil and water treatment.
