Booster: enhanced recovery efforts by ConocoPhillips at the veteran Ekofisk field have lifted reserves

Norway’s petroleum agency has raised its estimate for the country’s total recoverable resources to more than 85.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent, while also lifting the figure for undiscovered volumes on the continental shelf.

The latest figure issued by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) in its annual resource assessment represents an increase of 2.8 billion boe, or nearly 3.3%, in recoverable volumes compared with 2011.

This is mainly due to an increase in reserves at existing fields, higher resource estimates for discoveries,additional volumes from new finds and the hike in undiscovered resources, according to the NPD.
