Pipeline work: the Aasta Hansteen Spar

Norway’s Statoil has awarded several contracts to UK-headquartered Subsea 7 for subsea pipeline and marine installation work at the Aasta Hansteen field in the Norwegian Sea.

Subsea 7 said the contracts, worth about $380 million in total, included the design, coating, fabrication and installation of 19 kilometres of rigid flowlines, as well as the coating, fabrication and installation of four steel catenary risers.

The scope of work also includes the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) and of rigid spools and monitoring systems for the risers, and protection structures and anchors for the risers, flowlines and the Aasta Hansteer Spar.

Further work includes the transportation and installation of the mooring system for the Spar buoy, Subsea 7 said.
