Ablaze: Explosion caused 'large fire' on Maarib pipeline, says ministry

Yemen’s key oil pipeline has again come under attack in a blast blamed on sabotage that has halted crude flows.

A government ministry statement said that "subversive elements blew up the pipeline at kilometre 93 in the Sarwah region" between Sanaa and Marib.  

The attack caused "a large fire" in the pipeline, the ministry said in a statement cited by Agence France Presse.

Flows were halted from the eastern Maarib province’s Maarib fields to the Ras Isa oil terminal on the Red Sea, according to Reuters. Repair teams have been mobilised to the area to fix the pipeline, the wire service said.
