Ocean Yield in deal for AHTS pair

Aker Solutions’ offshore vessel subsidiary Ocean Yield is set to acquire a pair of anchor-handling tug supply vessels for Nkr1.2 billion ($210.5 million) under a sale and leaseback deal with Norwegian owner Farstad Shipping.

The pair of UT731 CD-design units are currently being built at Norwegian yard Vard Langsten at Tomrefjord - renamed from STX OSV Langsten after the takeover of STX OSV by FIncantieri – and due for delivery in March and May this year.

Subsidiary Farstad Supply will sell the vessels to Ocean Yield for an undisclosed sum immediately on delivery and then lease them back under a 12-year bareboat charter, with an option to re-acquire the units at a later date.
