Ulstein in PSV design job

Previous order: pair of Ulstein-designed PSVs for Britoil

Norwegian shipbuilder and designer Ulstein Group has secured a deal to deliver its PX121 design for a pair of platform supply vessels to be built in China by Dutch shipowner Vroon.

Ulstein will also provide a power package for the two vessels, to be built at Cosco Shipyard in Guangdong, that are due for delivery in the first quarter of 2015, with options for two more units under the newbuild contract.

It will bring to 10 the number of PSVs based on the Ulstein design, with the latest order involving new clients for the Ulsteinvik yard.

No value was disclosed for the deal.
