ExxonMobil starts Telok flows

Natural gas production begins at US supermajor’s field in South China Sea

ExxonMobil has kicked off production at the first of two unmanned platforms forming a natural gas development off Malaysia.

The Telok A platform has now been put into production on the natural gas field some 124 miles off peninsular Malaysia, although the US supermajor did not say when production began or at what rates.

The development has been delivered on schedule and within budget, it continued.

Telok A is phase one of a two-part project which will eventually see two four-leg unmanned platforms on the field. A total of 14 development wells are expected to be drilled.
