Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez likens late leader’s death to that of Yasser Arafat, report claims

Venezuelan Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez has said an inquiry will be set up to investigate claims that Hugo Chavez was murdered by foreign agents, according to a report.

Ramirez himself placed the blame for the late president’s recent death – which came after a cancer battle - with the US and Israel, the BBC reported.

Chavez died over a week ago with his funeral held last Friday in the capital of the major Opec nation, Caracas.

His death followed prolonged treatment for cancer in Cuba, but Venezuelan authorities have for some time made unsubstantiated…
