Invited: ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson invited to White House meeting

The chief executives of two major US oil and gas companies, including Rex Tillerson of ExxonMobil, were reportedly among 12 corporate heavyweights invited to the White House on Wednesday to discuss cybersecurity issues with President Barack Obama.

Tillerson and Marathon Oil chief executive Clarence Cazalot joined executives from a variety of industries including banking and communications on an exclusive invite list seen by Bloomberg.

The meeting was to be held in the Situation Room in the West Wing of the White House where the president meets with national security advisors during times of crisis, adding an air of urgency to the cybersecurity talks.
