ExxonMobil and Aker ink Erha North deal

Nigeria: ExxonMobil hands a subsea umbilicals contract to Norway's Aker Solutions

Norwegian contractor Aker Solutions has signed a deal with ExxonMobil to supply subsea umbilicals for the US supermajor’s Erha North phase two development project off Nigeria.

Erha North phase two is an extension of the existing Erha subsea system and infrastructure, located about 97 kilometres off Nigeria’s shore in water depths ranging between 1000 and 1200 metres.

Under the contract, Aker will deliver two dynamic and two steel tube umbilicals measuring 16.5 kilometres long in total.

The umbilicals will be designed, engineering and manufactured at Aker’s facility in Mobile, Alabama and are scheduled for delivery next year.

Aker will also have a local team in Lagos, Nigeria to provide project management and engineering support.
