BG Group starts up Everest East gas field

Signposting production: BG Group sees first gas at Everest East

BG Group has seen first production at its Everest East brownfield expansion project in the central UK North Sea.

The gas field is set to provide initial peak production of more than 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from gross reserves of 20.6 million boe, the explorer said.

The Everest East expansion comprises two sub-sea wells tied back to the North Everest platform and brownfield modifications to the existing production system at the field

London-listed BG Group is the 99.1% operator of the Everest field, which has been producing since 1993.
