New hire: DeepOcean signs Havila Phoenix on long-term charter

Norwegian subsea services contractor DeepOcean has chartered the Havila Phoenix subsea vessel from Havila Shipping on a long-term deal.

DeepOcean UK managing director Tony Inglis said the contractor aimed to tap the seabed intervention market with the vessel for both oil & gas and renewables.

As Upstream reported last month, the charter has been made for a firm period of seven years with four one-year extension options.

The vessel is to be equipped with advanced dredging equipment to allow a combination of track-based mechanical cutting and jetting modes.
