HRT spuds Cajazeira light oil wildcat

Brazil’s HRT has spudded a wildcat on the Cajazeira light oil prospect in the Solimoes Basin onshore Brazil.

The Rio de Janeiro-based independent said that the 1-HRT-11-AM was being drilled on block SOL-T-172 around 60 kilometres northeast of the Leste do Urucu field in Caori municipality, Amazonas state.          

The drill by the Queiroz Galvao-owned land rig QG-VIII and aims to test an elongated NE-SW domic structure, believed to be similar to the Jurua/Tefe and Urucu trends.

The main target of this well is to identify the presence of hydrocarbons in Carboniferous reservoirs of the Jurua formation, expected at 2035 metres depth.
