Shore thing: for Tanzania LNG plant

Statoil and BG Group are reported to be teaming up to jointly develop a $10 billion liquefied natural gas terminal onshore Tanzania to exploit their respective gas discoveries off the East African country.

Statoil's head of exploration Tim Dodson told Reuters on Monday "we have enough gas to move forward" after the Norwegian state giant revealed it had discovered between 4 trillion and 6 trillion cubic feet of gas at its Tangawizi prospect in Block 2.

"We are working with BG to come up with a recommendation for a landing site. We should be making that recommendation to Tanzanian authorities fairly early in the second quarter," he added.
