Empire prepares for Wannamal shoot

Taking to the air: Empire is preparing to start a helicopter borne 3D seismic survey in the Perth basin

Australia-listed Empire Oil & Gas has enlisted Terrex Seismic Australia to carry out a 3D seismic survey over EP 389 in the onshore Perth basin, Western Australia.

Empire claims the 80 square kilometre shoot, dubbed the Wannamal 3D seismic survey, will be the first helicopter borne survey of its size in the Perth basin.

Terrex will supply the recording equipment, geophones, the seismic crew and the subcontractors to record the seismic data.

Empire added that Precision Helicopters would provide two helicopters and two pilots for the 3D shoot, while the 12 heliportable drills and crew would be supplied by Webster Drilling, with both service companies being subcontracted to Terrex.

The survey will be gathered over the Gingin gas field area…
