Enegi to weigh up Phoenix viability

Phoenix: Enegi Oil and Azimuth plan to incorporate their findings on Block 22/12b to determine the viability of further appraisal and development of the Phoenix discovery

UK-listed Enegi Oil said it has completed 250 square kilometres of required 3D seismic data over its Block 22/12b in the UK North Sea and is now carrying out analyses to determine recoverable reserves for the Phoenix discovery

The company said on Friday it had started performing in-house interpretation, subsurface analysis and reservoir modeling to determine the full range of recoverable reserves for the discovery, which was made in 2004 by a Shell-operated well.

Enegi operates Block 22/12b in partnership with ABTechnology. Bermuda-registered Azimuth entered a farm-in agreement with Enegi in February to earn a 50% stake in the exploration area of the block (not covering the Phoenix discovery).
