OGDC appoints acting chief executive

Shifting gears: ODGC appoints new boss

Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Development Company has appointed Muhammad Riaz Khan has as acting managing director and chief executive with immediate effect.

The state player’s appointment comes just hours after Pakistan’s caretaker government reportedly sacked OGDC chief executive Masood Siddiqui.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister’s House in Lahore confirmed the development to Pakistan’s The News International, but declined to state a reason for the dismissal.

Siddiqui was appointed to the top job last June after 25 years in the industry.

Previously OGDC’s executive director of joint ventures, Riaz Khan has worked in the industry for more than 30 years.
