Mendoza opens bid round

By Upstream staff

Argentina's Mendoza province will call for bids tomorrow for 12 blocks in the Cuyana and Neuquen basins, a government source said.

Interested players will be able to acquire bidding rules until 20 July, while the province will open bids on 23 July, a source in Mendoza province's deputy department of mining, oil and hydrocarbons told BNamericas, elaborating on a government statement.

The blocks in the Cuyana basin are dubbed San Rafael, Pampa del Sebo, Zampal Norte, Nacunan, and Tordillos Oeste.

In the Neuquen basin, the province will offer the Rio Diamante, Malargue, Cerro de los Leones, El Coiron, Payún Oeste, Chachahuen and Rio Atuel blocks.

The Nacunan, Tordillos Oeste, Chachahuen and Río Atuel blocks were tendered last year. The province received a total 18 bids, but did not award the concessions.

The province has published information on the blocks here.
