Four OSX directors quit in latest Batista woe

Embattled: Eike Batista's troubled conglomerate sees more executive departures

OSX Brasil, the shipbuilding unit of Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista's crumbling empire, has said  that four board members will be stepping down.

The company will hold an extraordinary general assembly to find board replacements for Rodolpho Tourinho Neto, Luiz do Amaral de França Pereira, Samir Zraick and Eliezer Batista da Silva, who will be leaving.

No reason was given for the board resignations, Reuters reported.

Markets have hammered the shares of Batista's companies, involved in shipbuilding, port building, mining, oil and gas exploration and energy generation, after they posted repeatedly disappointing results over the past year.

The resignations come a day after a similar board shakeup at Batista's troubled flagship OGX after the company failed to deliver on promised oil production.

Wednesday also saw the chief financial officer of Batista's umbrella EBX Group step down.

Last week Batista himself resigned as chairman of electric power company MPX Energia, in a move seen as the beginning of the downfall of the billionaire's high-flying conglomerate under the weight of debt woes, stock losses and disappointing results.
