Amadeus completes Texan test

By Upstream staff

Australian outfit Amadeus Energy and its partners have completed production testing at their onshore Scheinemann South-1 well in Lavaca County, Texas, and have started testing of the Trio Gerdes-1 well.

Amadeus said that based on the test results, it expects the Scheinemann South-1 well to have long-term production rates of about 1.5 million to 2 million cubic feet of gas and 35 barrels to 50 barrels of oil per day from the lowest pay zone.

The company added that there were two additional gas-bearing zones uphole in the well that will remain in the “behind pipe” category while the deep sand proceeds to full commercial production.

It also said that the results of the testing have already justified the drilling of multiple additional wells in the area over the next 12 to 18 months.

Amadeus owns a 22.5% working interest until pay out and a 19.6875% working interest after pay-out. The remainder of its partners are largely Texas-based oilfield professionals, the two largest of which are Calex Resources and Gruy.
