Repairs under way: on the Nembe pipeline
Shell works on Nembe fix
Shell said today it was starting repairs on the Nembe pipeline after a leak on the link last month forced the supermajor to cut output by 77,000 barrels per day.
The leak occurred on 25 May and Shell had been in talks with community members to get access to the site.
"We are in the area and progressing with trying to get production up and running," Shell spokeswoman Eurwen Thomas told Reuters. "Repair work is in progress."
Shell was unable to predict when production would resume through the pipeline, which feeds Nigeria's Bonny export terminal, Thomas said.
