US-focused Maverick Drilling & Exploration has confirmed the death of two employees at one of its drill sites in Texas.
The incident which occurred on Monday afternoon, resulted in the death of Alejadro Gonzalez and Tomas Ramo.
The workers sustained injuries that required emergency services and were later taken to hospital where they did not survive their injuries.
An investigation has been launched and Maverick said it was co-operating with the regulatory agencies.
Local media reported that oil workers were killed after being struck by an electrical wire.
Maverick company secretary Andrew Crawford said it was too early in the investigation to assess how the incident would affect the timeline of production.
