By Upstream staff

International engineering group MIS has listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, attracted, the company said, by the bourse's heavy energy weighting.

The company also said it's dealing with Norwegian ship brokers while negotiating a series of new-build jack up rig contracts had prompted it to list in the Norwegian capital last week.

MIS currently has an order backlog of over $700 million. The company provides onshore and offshore engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and maintenance services at its shipyard in Sharjah and fabrication facilities in Jubail, Saudi Arabia and Ahmadi, Kuwait.

The Panamanian-registered company has corporate offices in Dubai and Aksai, Kazakhstan.

MIS reported net profits of $19.3 million in 2006 on revenues of $177.4 million.
