Rocksource chief to quit

Corporate move: Bergen

The boss of Rocksource is stepping down in a further top-level management switch due to a corporate relocation by the Norwegian explorer.

Chief executive Chris Spencer is set to be replaced as he is unable to shift address from Stavanger to the company’s location in Bergen on Norway’s west coast “due to personal circumstances", with a recruitment firm now hired to find a successor, Rocksource disclosed in a statement.

At the same time, the company said it had now appointed Hans Petter Klohs as chief financial officer to replace current incumbent Tommy Sundt, who decided along with other members of its Oslo-based team to pursue other opportunities rather than relocate.

Klohs, formerly finance chief with GC Rieber Shipping and with experience from both the oil service and shipping industries, has initially been hired on a one-year contract and is due to start in the new job on 2 June.

Sundt will remain onboard until September to ensure a smooth transition for the position, Rocksource stated.

The company has decided to consolidate its technical, financial and commercial activities at its current Bergen headquarters in a move to cut administrative costs and boost operational efficiency.
