Pair eye Frigate Island

Texas target: for Westgate and Black Pearl

Westbridge Energy and Black Pearl Holdings are joining forces to develop the Frigate Island shale gas project in southern Texas as the pair move towards a merger.

The duo intend to carry out drilling with hydraulic fracturing in the Lower Yegua interval at a barrier island at the play, which covers 6000 to 8000 acres and has already been mapped by 2D and 3D seismic data.

An analogous producing field located to the south of the play has produced 54.6 billion cubic feet of gas and 950,000 barrels of condensate to date.

Westbridge and Black Pearl, which are already producing oil and gas from the Bivens field in south-west Louisiana, are progressing towards completion of a definitive agreement that will lead to a merger of the two companies.
