Caretaker boss takes reins at Pemex E&P

Taking the reins: Hernandez Garcia

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has appointed a new chief executive to the exploration and production arm of state-run oil company Pemex.

Pemex revealed late on Wednesday that Hernandez Garcia would officially take over the top job at Pemex E&P after already holding the position in a caretaker role since Carlos Morales Gil stepped down in February.

Prior to taking over Morales Gil’s role, Garcia was sub-director of planning and evaluation in Pemex's exploration and production division.

Pemex said Garcia officially took up the chief executive role on 1 June.
