EMGS in Barents survey

Survey job: BOA Thalassa

Electromagnetic Geoservices has secured another award worth Nkr10 million ($1.7 million) for a new survey in the Barents Sea.

The Oslo-listed contractor intends to use its vessel BOA Thalassa to carry out the work to acquire 3D electromagnetic data for an undisclosed repeat client that will kick off this month.

It is the latest in a raft of geophysical survey contracts in the frontier play ahead of the country’s planned 23rd licensing round in which prospective acreage in the newly opened south-east Barents, in an area formerly disputed with Russia, is set to be offered.
