Circle nets 15 metres of pay

Moroccan pay: Circle intersects across three zones

London-listed Circle Oil has intersected 15 metres of net pay in the SAH-W1 well onshore Morocco.

Pay was interpreted across three zones, with 6 metres of pay in the top Guebbas, 6 metres in the main target Intra Guebbes and 3 metres in the lower Intra Guebbas.

Circle said it plans to produce from all three zones from the bottom up, where the highest pressure is present.

Seven inch casing was required in the well because of mechanical problems encountered downhole.

The well is located in the Sebou permit onshore Morocco, about 3.2 kilometres from the main gas gathering station.

It spudded on 19 May and drilled to a total depth of 1263 metres.

The rig used to drill has been released from site.

Chief executive Chris Green said this was another successful discovery to add to its gas portfolio.

“This is the first well of a six well programme to be drilled with our partner ONHYM in the Sebou permit and is coupled with another six well programme in the Lalla Mimouna permit,” he said.
