Dockwise bags Thailand gig

By Upstream staff

Dutch heavy transport contractor Dockwise has been awarded a contract worth up to $35 million for the float-over and installation of an offshore module for the Carigali-PTT Exploration & Production joint venture operating in the Gulf of Thailand.

The 19,000 tonne topside (MDPP deck) will be transported and installed by Dockwise in 2009 in the Thailand-Malaysia joint development area.

The value of the contract is between $25 million and $35 million, Dockwise said.

The MDPP deck will be transported and installed by the Dockwise semi-sumersible heavy transport vessel Black Marlin.

Dockwise also announced today a 10% year-on-year increase in first-half revenue to $134.9 million.

Dockwise said its total backlog of heavy lift projects amounted to $147 million as of 30 June 2007.
