ATR revs up its wares

Aberdeen-based ATR Group is broadening its range of rental equipment, and has just spent more than £400,000 ($806,000) on new plant and equipment, with plans to invest a further £2 million over the next two years.

The oilfield equipment rental specialist has just bought a new articulated low-loader for moving large plants including compressors, generators and containers.

The 60 feet Scania lorry is equipped with a 50 tonne metre rated crane, and is capable of lifting and carrying 40 foot containers, weighing up to 4.5 tonnes.

ATR has also bought in six new 1060 cfm compressors for offshore use, with plans to buy more. These are rigsafe rated units for use in non-hazardous offshore areas and can be supplied with or without lifting frames, and are fully certified to client requirements.

Company director Robert Skidmore said: “Following the management buy-in earlier this year we announced plans to double turnover by 2010. This local investment in the Aberdeen rental fleet is only part of the investments we will be making to achieve this target."
