Flotek buys Sooner in $7.1m deal

By Upstream staff

Houston's Flotek Industries has bought Oklahoma-based drilling services outfit Sooner Energy Services in a $7.1 million cash deal.

Flotek said Sooner manufactures and markets specialty production chemicals designed to maximise gas production and offers hands-on field application knowledge and technical expertise to design and deliver product solutions for various well conditions.

Flotek boss Jerry Dumas said: "The acquisition provides the platform and momentum for the broadening of our specialty chemical division's field capability to sell and service production enhancement products and chemicals."
