Singapore-based marine services provider Ezra Holdings has ordered a new multi-functional support vessel from Norway’s Karmsund Maritime at a cost of S$162.4 million (US$106.8 million).
The vessel is expected to be delivered by March 2010 and will be capable of working on offshore construction, subsea installation and installation-maintenance-repair jobs.
Ezra said the move will allow it to tap into the growth potential of the offshore oil and gas sector in the North Sea, South America and West Africa.
The vessel will join Ezra's two 30,000 brake horsepower large deep-water Rolls-Royce designed multi-functional support vessels, ordered in May and scheduled for delivery in 2009 and 2010.
